NGC 5036 is a 14.6 likes bright lenticular galaxy of Hubble type SB0-a in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 296 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 60,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 5015 and NGC 5039 .
The property was discovered by Francis Preserved Leavenworth on January 25, 1887 .
