NGC 5065 is a 13.6 likes bright barred spiral galaxy with pronounced star formation from Hubble type SBCD in the constellation Coma Berenices the north star sky . It is estimated to be 250 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5041 , NGC 5056 , NGC 5057 , NGC 5074 .
The object was discovered on March 13, 1785 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "vF, S".
