NGC 5104 is a 13.6 mag bright spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sa in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 247 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on April 12, 1864 .
