NGC 5112 is an 11.6 mag barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation of the Hounds , located about 46 million light years from the Milky Way. It was discovered on March 17, 1787 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "pB, L, iF, unequally bright, 3 'or 4' diameter".
