NGC 5137 is a 14.8 mag bright spiral galaxy of the Hubble type S in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 321 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 55,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5115 , NGC 5129 , NGC 5132 , NGC 5136 .
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on April 17, 1887 .
