NGC 5158 is a 12.9 likes bright barred spiral galaxy with an active galactic nucleus from Hubble type SBab in the constellation Coma Berenices the northern sky . It is estimated to be 295 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5151 , NGC 5172 , NGC 5190 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on May 7, 1826 .
