NGC 5167 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble-type Sc in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic. It is an estimated 336 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5177 , NGC 5181 , NGC 5185 , NGC 5186 .
The object was discovered on June 7, 1883 by Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel .
