NGC 5187 is a 13.7 likes bright spiral galaxy with an active galactic nucleus from Hubble type Sb in the constellation of the hunting dogs and about 322 million light-years from the Milky Way center.
It was discovered on March 20, 1787 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "eF, vS".
