NGC 5199 is a 13.7 likes bright lenticular galaxy of Hubble type S0 in the constellation of the hunting dogs and about 323 million light-years from the Milky Way center.
It was discovered on May 1, 1785 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "vF, vS, lE".
