NGC 5192 is a 14.1 likes bright active spiral galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type Sa in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 480 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 85,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 5183 , NGC 5184 , NGC 5196 , NGC 5197 , among others .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on April 12, 1864 .
