NGC 5094 is a 13.2 mag bright elliptical galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type E3 in the constellation of Virgo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 284 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5073 , NGC 5105 , IC 4220 , IC 4221 .
The object was discovered on March 27, 1786 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "vF, vS".
