IC 4201 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type S in the constellation Hounds in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 504 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4986 , IC 4178 , IC 4187 , IC 4189 .
The object was discovered by Max Wolf on March 21, 1903 .
