IC 4201 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type S in the constellation Hounds in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 504 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4986 , IC 4178 , IC 4187 , IC 4189 .

The object was discovered by Max Wolf on March 21, 1903 .
