IC 4182 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sm in the constellation Canes Venatici on the northern sky . It is estimated to be 17 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 20,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 4115 , IC 4127 , IC 4144 , IC 4152 .
The Type Ia supernova SN 1937C was observed here.
The object was discovered by Max Wolf on March 21, 1903 .
