IC 4171 is a spiral dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type Scd in the constellation Hounds in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 46 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 10,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 4178 , IC 4187 , IC 4188 , IC 4189 .
The object was discovered by Max Wolf on March 21, 1903 .
