IC 937 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is an estimated 935 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years in diameter . Together with IC 938 , it forms an interacting pair of galaxies.
The galaxies IC 928 , IC 930 , IC 931 , IC 934 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Edward Emerson Barnard in June 1892 .
