At the USTA / ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships , the indoor champions in US college tennis in singles and doubles were determined for the 37th and last time in 2016 . The game was played from November 3rd to 6th at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing , New York .
One of the four competitions was the men's singles . The defending champion was the German Dominik Koepfer from Tulane University , who was no longer eligible to play this year. His successor was the American Michael Redlicki from the University of Arkansas , who prevailed in the final in two sets against the Dane Mikael Torpegaard from Ohio State University .
