I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do is a song by ABBA from 1975. It was written by Björn Ulvaeus , Benny Andersson and Stig Anderson , Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad took care of the lead vocals together. In April 1975 the piece was released simultaneously on the album ABBA and with the B-side Rock Me as a single, which was sold around 2.5 million times worldwide.
Emergence
In its arrangement, the song shows a significant proximity to the hit music that Andersson had accompanied on his way through the 1960s. The saxophone track was intended as a homage to the American singer Billy Vaughn . The song was one of the last to be recorded in the sessions for the ABBA album . During their tour of Sweden in the summer of 1975, two pieces that had originally been included in the program were deleted in order to sing SOS and I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do instead . This led to the following criticism:
"... ABBA are the top chefs in the computer age. Her songs consist of simple harmonies and incessant repetition. , I love you 'singing ABBA and show it to the audience. But that is a lie. ABBA do not love us, only the 20 crowns that they pull out of our pockets when the "ABBA mania" has seized us and we want to escape reality for an hour "
