Ian Haugland (* 13. August 1964 in Nordrejsa , Norway than in January Håkan Haugland ) is a Swedish drummer of the rock band Europe . He also works as a radio host for the Stockholm local station 106.7 rock classics. His father's name is Sigmund Haugland, his mother Siv died in 2002.

At the age of eight months, Ian moved with his family to the Stockholm suburb of Märsta ( Sweden ). He currently lives in Stockholm.

He began his musical career at the age of 13 with the band Rainbow Rising with Cozy Powell . He played in a few other bands such as Trilogy , where Candlemass' bassist Leif Edling sang, and in Yngwie J. Malmsteen's band Rising Force . In the summer of 1984, Ian joined the Swedish rock band Europe and replaced the fired Tony Reno on drums. After the band's breakup / hiatus in 1992, Haugland toured and made records with various bands: Brazen Abbot , Clockwise, Last Autumn's Dream, John Norum , Europe and the former Black Sabbath - Deep Purple singer Glenn Hughes . In 1998, he took a cover version of Black Sabbath songs Changes for Ozzy Osbourne - Tribute Album Ozzified on. Since Europe's comeback in 2003 and already in 2000 at the Millennium Show in Stockholm, when Europe played their most famous song The Final Countdown in front of a million spectators, Ian has been back as a drummer.
