Ibolya Verebics
Ibolya Verebics (* 1962 in Győr ) is a Hungarian soprano.
Life
Verebics received her first singing lessons during school with Anna Gonda, and from 1981 to 1986 studied at the Budapest Franz Liszt Music Academy with Boldizsar Keonch, Judith Sandor and Csaba Vegvari.
In 1986 she received a diploma as a concert singer during her academic years and began her concert career. Verebics was a participant in European and international singing competitions and won prizes and awards in 1982 in Karlovy Vary , in 1983 in Helsinki at the Mirham Helim competition with the special jury prize, in 1985 in Barcelona at the Vinas song competition with a monthly grant in Italy with Ettore Campagallioni , then continued in 1987 in Cardiff at the BBC competition , in 1988 in Philadelphia and in New York at the Pavarotti competition.
As a course participant, she was in Elisabeth Schwarzkopf's master class in the Salzburg Mozarteum and in Pesaro with Luciano Pavarotti . Ibolya Verebics has mastered an extensive repertoire with the great works and masses, oratorios and concerts from Bach to Weber. She is a favorite interpreter of Mozart when it comes to lieder.
Verebics worked a. a. with Antal Doráti and Helmuth Rilling , who also hired them for recordings and CDs. Under Manfred Honeck , took place in December 1994 at the Leipzig Gewandhaus , the performance of the Symphony No. 4 by Gustav Mahler , where the singer took the soprano solo. Furthermore, Verebics worked with Julia Hamari , Marilyn Horne , Christa Ludwig and Peter Schreier . In 1990 she met her future husband Joachim Pape in Israel. In 1992 their son Cornelius was born. She is married and lives in Stuttgart .
She gave concerts in Vienna , Eisenstadt , Budapest , Brno , Oviedo , Gran Canaria , Israel , as well as Los Angeles and New York City . Verebics participated in the European Music Festival of the Stuttgart Bach Academy and in the International Wolfegger Concerts.
She has been a member of the Hungarian National Opera in Budapest since 1986 and sings as operatic roles Micaela in Carmen , Margarete in Faust , Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice , in La clemenza di Tito .
