The ERC Hannover Ice Lions are a para-ice hockey team from Hannover . With eleven German championship titles, the club is the most successful Paralympic sport team in Germany.

history

The team was founded as RSG Hannover '94 and was the first sledge ice hockey club in the country. She started under the name ESC Hannover Scorpions in the German Sledge Ice Hockey League, founded in 2000, and won the first seven championships in a row. In 2008 the championship title had to be surrendered to SG Kamen / Wiehl for the first time .

In 2009 the team moved to Langenhagen and took on the name Ice Lions. The team plays in the (DSL) and won 11 of the 12 DSL championships. In the following four years the team won four more German championships, with only one game lost in the first three years of the game.

The sporting successes led to the award of the Lower Saxony Sports Medal in 2010. In the summer of 2017, the Langenhagen ice rink was closed, so that the Ice Lions held their home tournament in the ice rink at the horse tower in February 2018 . For the 2018/19 season, the Ice Lions became a department of the ERC Hannover .
