Icon for Hire is an American rock band from Decatur , Illinois . The band was formed in 2007 by singer Ariel and guitarist Shawn Jump. Band history
Ariel met Jump in 2007 and after discovering that he plays the guitar, the two began working together musically. At the end of 2009, the band was contacted by Tooth & Nail Records via MySpace . The label sent representatives to a concert of the band and finally signed them in July 2010. They spent the final quarter of 2010 with producers Rob Hawkins and Aaron Sprinkle producing their first album, Scripted , which was released on August 23, 2011. In February 2011, current bassist Josh Kincheloe joined the band.
Icon for Hire played in the opening act for Red on their “Kill the Machine” tour in October 2011. They also took part in the Christmas Rock Night in Ennepetal , where Red, Skillet , Hawk Nelson and Stellar Kart played among others . In early 2012 the band toured with Jamie's Elsewhere, These Hearts and with Emery's "Emery and Friends Tour" with I Am Empire and Sent By Ravens in March 2012. In May 2012 they toured with Red, POD and Love and Death. In the summer of the same year they played at numerous festivals, including the Creation Festival . They also announced in July that they would take part in the Music With A Mission Tour in September and November together with Family Force 5 and Disciple , who are also under contract with Tooth & Nail Records .
