Ignacio Gogorza Izaguirre

Ignacio Gogorza Izaguirre SCI di Béth (born July 28, 1936 in Azcoitia ) is a Spanish clergyman and emeritus bishop of Encarnación .

Life

Ignacio Gogorza Izaguirre joined the religious order of Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and was ordained a priest on June 29, 1961 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Coronel Oviedo on March 26, 1998 . The Archbishop of Asunción , Felipe Santiago Benítez Ávalos , donated him episcopal ordination on June 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Claudio Silvero Acosta SCI di Béth, Auxiliary Bishop in Encarnación, and Celso Yegros Estigarribia , Bishop of Carapeguá .

On February 3, 2001, he was appointed Bishop of Ciudad del Este . He was appointed Bishop of Encarnación on July 12, 2004, and was introduced to the office on September 12 of the same year.

On November 15, 2014, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
