The Roman Catholic Diocese of Ciudad del Este ( lat. : Dioecesis Urbis orientalis , span. : Diócesis de Ciudad del Este ) is in Paraguay located Roman Catholic diocese , based in Ciudad del Este .
history
The diocese of Ciudad del Este was created on March 25, 1968 through the division of the territorial prelature Encarnación y Alto Paraná into the territorial prelatures Encarnación and Alto Paraná. The Territorial Prelature Alto Paraná was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Asunción as a suffragan . On July 10, 1993 the territorial prelature Alto Paraná was raised to the diocese. The diocese Alto Paraná changed its name on February 3, 2001 to the diocese Ciudad del Este .
