Impekoven is a district of the municipality of Alfter in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The sub-towns of Nettekoven and Ramelshoven belong to Impekoven .

location

Impekoven is located on the slope of the foothills in close proximity to the city of Bonn . The surrounding towns are Gielsdorf in the north, Oedekoven in the northeast and east, Witterschlick in the south, and the district of Buschhoven in the west , which belongs to the municipality of Swisttal .

To the west of Impekoven is the Kottenforst nature reserve . In Impekoven the Katzenlochbach and the Markeskaulenbach flow into the Hardtbach .

history

Impekoven was first mentioned in a document in 1171, when the convent of the holy virgins from Cologne acquired a mill on the Hardtbach in "Emmehoven". In 1275 the tithe rights were sold to the chapter on St. Cassius in Bonn.

A document dated November 12, 1323 indicates for the first time viticulture in Impekoven. In 1449, 19 houses were recorded in a cadastre for Impekoven, Nettekoven and Ramelshoven. Of the total area, 173.75  hectares of arable land and 22.75 hectares of vineyards were operated. During the Thirty Years' War , Swedish troops reached the place for the first time in January 1633, which was heavily destroyed and looted in the ensuing fighting.

On April 30, 1815, the Prussian administrative district of Cologne was formed. Impekoven belonged to the mayor's office of Oedekoven .

Impekoven's first chapel was built as a half-timbered building around 1650 and is first confirmed in writing for 1826. In 1889 this chapel was demolished. From January 2, 1872, there was a school in Impekoven for the first time . The new chapel in Impekoven was inaugurated on July 2, 1887. Just a few days later, she was damaged by a lightning strike . In 1968 the second chapel was also demolished, and in its place there is now the Catholic Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary .

In 1898 Impekoven was connected to the power grid . The first water pipes were laid in the village around 1904 . On August 1, 1969, the municipality of Impekoven with its districts of Nettekoven and Ramelshoven was incorporated into Alfter . The last mayor of Impekoven was Karl Schumann.

Population development

In 1713 Impekoven had 102 inhabitants. In a population statistics from 1808, Impekoven has 194 inhabitants. By 1828 this number rose to 259 inhabitants, 173 of whom lived in Impekoven, 37 in Nettekoven and 49 in Ramelshoven. By 1881 the population had fallen to 242, Impekoven had 167 inhabitants, Nettekoven 23 and Ramelshoven 52. For July 1, 1901 there are 157 in Impekoven, 51 in Nettekoven and 38 in Ramelshoven.

Since 2000 the number of inhabitants has risen sharply due to the establishment of new development areas due to the proximity to the city of Bonn.

Impekoven is connected to the regional road network via the district road 12 and the federal road 56 running through the district of Nettekoven .

On June 7, 1880, the Euskirchen-Bonn railway was opened. The place had a breakpoint, which was initially called "Witterschlick" and was renamed "Impekoven" in 1903; it was closed and demolished in 1979. On December 14, 2014, a new stop “Alfter-Impekoven” of the Voreifelbahn ( S 23 ) was put into operation closer to the village .

The bus lines 843 and the night bus line N9 touch Impekoven, Nettekoven is served by the lines 800 and 845. There are buses to Meckenheim , Rheinbach , Heimerzheim and Bonn Central Station .

Personalities

• Heinrich Alef (1897–1966), Mayor of Bad Godesberg from 1933 to 1945, was born in Impekoven.
• Johannes Wilde (* 1936), politician, lives in Impekoven.
