action

Carter Webb is a porn screenwriter and lives in Los Angeles . When his girlfriend Sofia Buñuel, a famous model, breaks up with him, he decides to spend some time with his grandmother. She has already lost her will to live and is only thinking about her imminent death. Carter also wants to use the time to continue a project that has already been dealt with for a long time, but fails.

Webb meets the Hardwicke family across the street. He gets along with Sarah straight away and now goes for many walks with her. While he complains about his suffering over Sofia, she tells him that her husband had an affair that affects the whole family. She has had a bad relationship with her teenage daughter Lucy since an incident a few years ago, but she has a particularly loving bond with her younger daughter Paige.

Sarah is diagnosed with breast cancer, which plunges the family into a deep hole. When she tells Carter tearfully, he kisses her and promises her that everything will be fine. Meanwhile, Lucy has problems with love matters. Her boyfriend preferred her best friend and in her anger over this, Lucy doesn't realize that her heart has long been beating for someone else. She kisses Carter after a party, but he quickly realizes that he was not meant by this kiss. Sarah watches the kiss and forbids Carter to get any closer to her daughter.

Sarah is getting worse and worse, collapses and goes to the hospital. There she reads a letter from Carter, who thanks her for her conversations and friendship. In the meantime he has long since passed Sofia.

Lucy realizes who she really loves and makes her way to Eric. Carter has finished his book, which now has a different subject. When he tries to show his grandmother, he realizes that she has already died. He leaves the house and meets Sarah, who is better again. They say goodbye.

Carter is now back in LA. He's sitting in a coffee shop working on the end of a story about his grandmother. He speaks to the waitress and in the conversation you can tell that he is a completely new person.
