Ingrid Burkhard (born June 7, 1931 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress .

Life

After completing the Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna, Ingrid Burkhard first played at the Theater für Vorarlberg . Between 1953 and 1972 she was engaged with her husband Hannes Siegl at the Landestheater Linz, the stages of the city of Bonn and the Schauspielhaus Zurich . She is the mother of the actor Dietrich Siegl (* 1954), whom she gave birth to in Vienna while she was working in Linz, and her daughter Katharina, who was born in 1958. Since her return to Vienna, where her husband, who died in 2009, became a member of the Burgtheater in 1972, she has been a freelance artist and first played in various smaller Viennese theaters , and later repeatedly at the Theater in der Josefstadt and the Burgtheater.

She was best known through the television series Ein echter Wiener nicht untergang , where she played the role of Toni Sackbauer, Edmund Sackbauer's wife. Her serial partner there was Karl Merkatz .

Since the beginning of the television film series Da wo ... , which began in 2000 with Da wo die Berge sind and Hansi Hinterseer in the leading role, she has embodied his mother Irmi Sandgruber in the eight ninety-minute episodes filmed so far.

On May 29, 2011, during a festival performance at the Wiener Kammerspiele, on the occasion of her upcoming 80th birthday, she was awarded the Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria .

Ingrid Burkhard lives alternately in Vienna and Spitz an der Donau (Lower Austria) .

In 2018 she was awarded the Big Diagonale Acting Prize. For Die Einsiedler she was awarded the Austrian Film Prize 2019 in the category Best Female Leading Role .
