action

Many years ago, ski ace Hansi Sandgruber left his tranquil village in the Kitzbühel Alps and went to Vienna, where he opened a restaurant. The reason was a serious fall on a descent, which tied him to the hospital bed for a long time and buried his future dreams as a skier. At that time, Hansi also left his girlfriend Regina behind. His father had never forgiven him for his sudden departure and his older brother Franz remained unforgiving. When Hansi's father dies unexpectedly after receiving an ominous letter, whereupon he madly caused an accident with his car that he did not survive, Hansi returns to his village for the funeral. Even if it's a sad occasion, he also has good news for his mother: after years, he finally proposed to his girlfriend Pia, which she accepted.

When the will is opened, a surprise follows: Father Sandgruber has decided that Hansi and not his eldest son Franz should take over the farm and the associated wildlife park. Franz swears to Hansi that he will take revenge. However, the notary makes it clear that the future of the farm is unclear: the old Sandgruber once borrowed six million schillings for the farm from his friend Perterer. The contract stipulates that if the money is not repaid on time by a certain date, the entire land of the wildlife park will be transferred to Perterer. The old Perterer died before Sandgruber, so that this contract also passed to his daughter Viktoria. In fact, shortly after the will was opened, Victoria demanded 4.5 million schillings, of which 500,000 within a very short time.

Hansi initially wants to turn down the inheritance, but at the encouragement of his uncle Gottfried decides to fight. He moves back from Vienna to his home village and lets Pia run the restaurant in his absence. He sells his old-timer and can pay the first 500,000 schillings. He does not yet know that Viktoria is expecting a defeat for the Sandgrubers, as she wants to build the Mountain-Sea-World tourist park with swimming and skiing facilities on the grounds of the wildlife park . She is initially supported in her plans by the mayor, who is hoping for votes, but soon rejects her unscrupulous manner. Now Viktoria gets Franz as an ally who has fallen for her. When the Sandgrubers suddenly become a magnet for visitors due to a kangaroo that has been newly integrated into the wildlife park , Viktoria sets fire to a Sandgrubers' horse stable. Hansi is not only concerned with the idea that someone is threatening the family. Suddenly he is standing between two women, having met Regina again in his village. She is now with the German lawyer and stud owner Karl-Friedrich, but still loves Hansi. Viktoria also desires Hansi and shows him her Mountain-Sea-World plans over dinner together. She offers him herself and a managerial position, but he refuses both, since Viktoria is not least to blame for the death of his father: In the letter he had received, Viktoria had asked for the entire sum of money back at once. Hansi knows that the family will not be able to generate the missing money even within the six months granted, but there is a legendary ski race in the winter, in which the winner will receive 200,000 dollars. The sum could save the farm and the wildlife park. Hansi decides to take part in the race.

Gottfried trains him for three months. The night before the race, Franz manipulated Hansi's skis at Viktoria's behest by shortening the binding screws. A few minutes before Hansi's start, however, he realizes that Viktoria has only used it and that she is not so much interested in her project, but rather in revenging Hansi, who has turned her away. Now Franz wants to save his brother, but is too late. Because Hansi didn't take the manipulated skis but replacement skis, nothing happens to him. Hansi wins the race and the farm and wildlife park are saved. Gottfried, however, uses the manipulated skis to ski down into the valley. Franz follows him. Gottfried falls and threatens to fall under a snow blower, but Franz throws himself in front of him and thus saves him. He himself is badly injured but survives. Hansi forgives him. He also separates from Pia by mutual agreement and reunites with Regina. Victoria, however, is arrested for what she did.
