production
The premiere of the ancient project with the pieces Iphigenia in Aulis , Trojan Women by Euripides , Agamemnon of Aeschylus and the Archarner or private peace of Aristophanes found on 10 December 1982 at the Mecklenburg State Theater Schwerin instead. Since two pieces were played simultaneously on different stages in the house, it was advisable to watch the performances on two evenings.
The dramaturgy was in the hands of Rainer Jahnke and Gisela Kahl, Lothar Scharsich was responsible for the overall equipment. The members of the Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle Schwerin played under the direction of Wolfgang Jahn.
The broadcast in the 2nd program of the television of the GDR took place on March 17, 1984 in color.
criticism
Helmut Ullrich says in the Neue Zeit :
"In the case of Iphigenia, the combination of archaic and modernity didn't seem to work out completely and Schiller's linguistic pathos hardly agreed with it."
Rainer Kerndl writes in Neues Deutschland about the premiere of Iphigenie :
"The production does not deny the tragic nature of the self-denial in the characters, nor their 'ideological' bias, but manages arrangements and players in such a way that the critical-rebellious contradiction sets concise and precise points."
