Cornelia Heyse (* 1957 in Meiningen ) is a German actress .

Life

Family and education

Heyse comes from an artistic family. Her father was the actor and later general manager Hans-Joachim Heyse in Bonn . She grew up in Weimar . As a child, she suffered from a speech impediment . She was stuttering and therefore first attended the speech healing high school in Weimar. She wanted to be an actress since her youth and was supported by her mother in her career choice.

After graduating from high school, she completed her acting training from 1973 to 1977 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in East Berlin .

After her training, she then played on various stages in the GDR , a. a. at the Berliner Ensemble , at the Meiningen Theater , where she took on numerous leading roles, and at the Schwerin State Theater , during the time of Christoph Schroth's successful management , when the Schwerin State Theater was considered the "Mecca of GDR theater art". After a planned foreign guest performance by the Schwerin State Theater at the Bern Theater , which was then canceled by the state , Heyse submitted an exit application to relieve the ensemble. She suspected that because of her personal connections to the West, the rejection had been made. In 1984 she left the GDR. In her file at the MfS she was classified as an "enemy of the GDR".

She made her first theater experiences in the West at a Hamburg private theater. She then had her first permanent engagement in the West at Theater Basel (1985–1988). This was followed by other permanent engagements at the Bielefeld Theater (1989–1990), the Nationaltheater Mannheim (1990–1993), the Bremen Theater (1994–1995) and the Leipzig Theater (1995–1998). From 1998 to 2001 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin , engaged by Thomas Langhoff . She has been working as a freelance actress since 2001. In the following years she accepted numerous guest engagements at renowned German-speaking theaters.

In 2001 she played at the Hamburg Thalia Theater in “Dream in Autumn” by Jon Fosse in a production by Luk Perceval , at the side of Dagmar Manzel , Stephan Bissmeier , Gundi Ellert and Werner Rehm.

In 2002 she made a guest appearance with the Berliner Ensemble (Titania in " A Midsummer Night's Dream "; director: Leander Haußmann ) and at the Berlin Schaubühne . In 2004 she appeared at the Schauspielhaus Zürich in “ Das weite Land ” (director: Karin Henkel ) in the role of actress Anna Meinhold-Aigner. In 2005 she took over City Freiburg Theater the role of Natalia Ivanovna in "varenye" by Lyudmila Ulizkaja (Director: Thomas Krupa ). In 2006 she went on tour in Germany with Ulrich Hub's comedy “The Bedroom of Alice”, a production by Schauspiel Leipzig with Euro-Studio Landgraf ; she played the mother of the mayor Eduard.

In 2006 she made her first guest appearance at the United Theaters in Bolzano as Mary Tyrone in “ One Long Day Journey into the Night ” (director: Carsten Bodinus ). In 2007 she took over the role of Irene Harms in " The Lonely Way " (director: Patrick Guinand). In 2009, Joan Didion's “The Year of Magical Thinking” followed in the monologue version; In 2010 she appeared there as Daja in " Nathan the Wise " (director: Monika Steil ).

In the 2009/10 season she appeared as a wicked stepmother in the fairy tale " Cinderella " at the Hans-Otto-Theater in Potsdam . In 2012 she appeared at the Nationaltheater Weimar as Laura in the world premiere of the play “The Second Woman” by Nino Haratiwili (director: Olivier Colonie ).

In September 2012 she played the role of Sabine in the world premiere of the play "Between the Worlds" by Sara von Schwarze at the Alten Schauspielhaus Stuttgart . Heyse played this role continuously until 2014; with this production she also appeared at the Cameri Theater in Tel Aviv .

In 2013 she played the role of Françoise Larchet in the comedy “The First Name” by Mathieu Delaporte and Alexander de la Patellière at the New Theater Halle ; Directed by Martina Eitner-Acheampong . In 2014, the role of head nurse Ratched in “ One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest ” (director: Niklas Ritter ) followed at the New Theater Halle . In the 2015/16 season she took on the role of Snow Queen / Robber Mother in the fairy tale play " The Snow Queen " at the Halle Opera House in November 2015 . Due to a stage accident, Heyse had to take a break due to an injury; however, she will resume her role from December 2015.

In addition to her engagements at state theaters, Heyse also participated in numerous independent theater productions and theater projects. She has made several guest appearances at the “ Theater am Rand ” in the Oderbruch, founded by Thomas Rühmann and Tobias Morgenstern . She is a founding member of the LehnschulzenHofbühne Viesen eV theater association in Viesen . At the Hofbühne Viesen she has already realized numerous productions, including a. “Before and after the fall of man” (2008; with Matthias Brenner), “ Michael Kohlhaas ” (2009; director: Matthias Brenner), “The other and I” (2010), “The purest love art” (2011), “ Shakespeare- Sonette ”(2011),“ Freedom and Happiness ”(2012, with Matthias Brenner) and“ Der Kirschgarten ”(2014; as landowner Ranjewskaja, director: Fanny Staffa).

Movie and TV

Heyse occasionally took on a few film and television roles, which, however, should be viewed as secondary to her theater work. Heyse once commented self-deprecatingly in an interview that she was "probably more registered with her film and television agent than a file of files."

In 2010 she had an episode role in the ZDF children's series Löwenzahn ; she played the director of the institute. In Tatort: ​​Das Muli (2015), the first case of the Berlin team of investigators Rubin and Karow , she was seen in a supporting role. She played the head of the youth facility in which Ronny Michels ( Theo Trebs ) and his roommate ( Julius Nitschkoff ) are housed. In Polizeiruf 110: Rostock's sons of the Bukow and König investigative team , which was first broadcast in January 2020, she was seen as the mother of a young entrepreneur who had fled ( Tilman Strauss ).

Heyse is also active as an author; she published u. a. the novel Haltewunschtaste published by Mitteldeutscher Verlag . She gives her own storytelling and reading evenings with which she u. a. traveled in the United States and Australia .

Heyse is married to the actor, director and theater manager Matthias Brenner . She lives in Berlin.
