Irbersdorf is a part of the Sachsenburg / Irbersdorf district of the city of Frankenberg / Sa. in the Saxon district of Central Saxony . The communities Sachsenburg and Irbersdorf merged on October 1, 1992 to form Sachsenburg-Irbersdorf , which was incorporated into Frankenberg on January 1, 1994 as the district of Sachsenburg / Irbersdorf.

Geographical location and traffic

Irbersdorf is in the north of the city of Frankenberg / Sa. and in the northeast of the Sachsenburg / Irbersdorf district. The place merges seamlessly into the neighboring town of Sachsenburg in the southwest. The place is located on the southern edge of the Mulde-Lösshügelland ( Saxon Granulite Mountains ). The stream running through Irbersdorf drains into the Zschopau . The federal motorway 4 runs along east of Irbersdorf .

Irbersdorf was mentioned in 1443 as "Erbirstorff". Ecclesiastically, the place has always belonged to Sachsenburg . With regard to the political administration presented Irber village with its neighboring towns Gersdorf and Sokolov a special feature shows.
