Ivan Uvízl

Ivan Uvízl (born August 16, 1958 in Šternberk ) is a former Czech long-distance runner .

In 1979 and 1982 he was Czechoslovakian champion over 5000 m . In 1985 he won the national title over 3000 m indoors.

At the World Indoor Athletics Games in Paris in 1985 he won bronze over 3000 m, and at the European Athletics Championships in 1986 in Stuttgart he came ninth over 5000 m and 13th over 10,000 m .

Then he switched to road running . In 1988 he won the Basel city run , in 1990 the Kerzers run and the Paderborn Easter run over 25 km and in 1991 the 25 km of Berlin . In 1992 he won the Munich Marathon and was sixth in the Berlin Half Marathon and the Zevenheuvelenloop , and in 1993, the last year of his competitive sports career, he was sixth in the 20 van Alphen and in the Hamburg Marathon .
