Iyo ( Japanese 伊 予 市 -shi ) is a city in Ehime Prefecture on the north coast of Shikoku Island in Japan .

Iyo is southwest of Matsuyama and north of Uwajima .
history
Iyo was founded on January 1, 1955 . The two communities Nakayama ( 中山 町 -chō ) and Futami ( 双 海 町 -chō ) of the Iyo district were incorporated on April 1, 2005 .
