Jörg Lützelberger (born June 20, 1985 in Suhl ) is a German handball trainer and former handball player .
Career
In his youth he played for HSV Suhl and its successor HC Suhl 99. After that, the runner switched to TV Großwallstadt . Since he did not get enough game shares there, he got a support license with the neighboring second division TUSPO Obernburg with the consent of the then Großwallstadt coach Peter Meisinger . In 2006 he then moved to VfL Gummersbach . In the winter semester 2006/2007 he began his studies at the DSHS ( German Sport University Cologne ), which he completed in 2012 with a diploma as a sports scientist. After only one season in Gummersbach, his contract was terminated at his request. In the 2007/08 season Lützelberger played at TBV Lemgo , but switched to TUSEM Essen after just one season . In December 2008 he left the insolvent club and moved back to his old club VfL Gummersbach, with whom he won the EHF Cup in 2009 . In 2010 and 2011 he won the European Cup Winners' Cup with VfL . Immediately after completing his studies, Lützelberger successfully completed the A-license trainer training at the DHB ( German Handball Federation ) as an active professional . After he ended his playing career in 2014, Lützelberger had been working as an assistant coach at VfL since the 2014/15 season . At the same time, Lützelberger headed the VfL Gummersbach's youth project, the VfL Gummersbach handball academy, as sporting director since September 2012. In the 2014/15 season Lützelberger made a comeback for four games at the second division TV Bittenfeld and rose to the Bundesliga with them. From December 2015 he also coached the third division handball Sport Gummersbach / Derschlag , a cooperation between the Gummersbach second representative and the former Bundesliga club TuS Derschlag and will succeed Michiel Lochtenbergh until the end of the season .
From the 2016/2017 season, Jörg Lützelberger worked as a youth coordinator for the Austrian first division club Bregenz Handball . For the 2017/2018 season, Lützelberger was coach of the first men's team in Bregenz handball. As the youngest trainer, he completed the internationally recognized EHF Mastercoach training in 2019. After a weak bonus round in the Spusu League , Markus Burger replaced Lützelberger as coach at Bregenz handball.
