Jörg Zumstein

Jörg Zumstein (born January 25, 1923 in Bern ; † February 3, 1997 in Silvaplana , citizen of Seeberg , Canton Bern ) was Chief of Staff of the Swiss Army from 1981 to 1985.

Life

Jörg Zumstein was born together with his twin brother Peter. His father Hans Zumstein was the owner of the match factory in Düdingen , his mother Gertrud was a doctor's daughter from Wimmis .

Jörg Zumstein attended primary school in Spiez , then in Freiburg in Üechtland . There he also graduated from grammar school and finally his degree in economics . He wrote his doctoral thesis in business administration on the subject of foremen in companies.

In 1951 he married Adrienne Bird from Liverpool . The marriage resulted in two sons and four daughters.
