Jürgen Linde (born February 7, 1935 in Braunschweig ) is a German lawyer , administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Jürgen Linde was born on February 7, 1935 as the son of a lawyer in Braunschweig. After graduating from high school in Braunschweig in 1956, he began studying law and political science at the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau , Göttingen and Berlin , which he completed in 1961 with the first state examination in law. From 1962 to 1969 he worked as a research assistant at the University of Göttingen and passed the second state examination in law in 1966. In 1970 he received his doctorate at the University of Göttingen Dr. jur. (Dissertation: Foreign Trade Act and intergovernmental agreements ).

Linde joined the administrative service as a government assessor and in 1969/70 worked as a senior councilor at the Hildesheim regional council . From 1970 to 1976 he was city and community director in Clausthal-Zellerfeld , took on the business of the upper district director in the Zellerfeld district in 1972 and, after the local reform, was entrusted with the business of the community director of the Upper Harz community (1972-1976). In addition, he joined the ÖTV .

From 1983 to 1989 Linde served as City Director in Gelsenkirchen . From 1989 to 1991 he acted as managing director of the waste disposal and contaminated site remediation association of North Rhine-Westphalia, based in Hattingen . Jürgen Linde has been married to Eva Schmidt since 1962 and has two children. He lives in Potsdam.

Linde joined the SPD in 1963, was chairman of the SPD sub-district of Goslar from 1974 to 1983 and at the same time was a board member of the SPD district of Braunschweig. In 1976 he was elected to the German Bundestag , to which he was a member until his resignation on November 10, 1983. From 1981 to 1983 he was Parliamentary Managing Director of the SPD parliamentary group. In parliament he represented from 1976 to 1980 the constituency Goslar - Wolfenbüttel and 1980-1983 the constituency Goslar . He had renounced his Bundestag mandate in order to be able to become Gelsenkirchen City Director.

Linde held office from November 1, 1990 to October 13, 1999 as State Secretary and Head of the State Chancellery in the government of the State of Brandenburg led by Prime Minister Manfred Stolpe . From October 11, 1994 to October 13, 1999, he also held the office of Minister for Special Tasks.
