Jacques Schulz

Jacques Arno Schulz (born April 1, 1967 in Heidelberg ) is a German sports journalist and from 1996 to 2012 was a commentator on the Formula 1 races at Sky Deutschland (formerly Premiere, before that DF1 ).

Jacques Schulz completed a degree in business administration and law before working as a presenter for the Munich radio stations Radio M1 and Energy (formerly Xanadu) from 1991 . From 1993 he commented on Formula 1 races for Eurosport , before switching to the pay-TV channel DF1 at the beginning of the digital television age in 1996 and remaining there after the merger of DF1 and Premiere into Premiere World / Premiere. At the side of the former Swiss racing driver Marc Surer , he commented on the Formula 1 broadcasts for the Munich broadcaster. Between the 1996 German Grand Prix and the 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix , the Schulz / Surer duo accompanied 289 complete racing weekends. In February 2013, Jacques Schulz announced his retirement as a commentator for personal reasons.

In 2016 he returned to a commentary booth after Kabel Eins had given up the broadcasting rights to the ADAC GT Masters at the end of 2014. As part of the FIA Formula E Championship 2015/16 , he moderated the Berlin ePrix 2016 together with Rene Domke for the DMAX broadcaster .
