Jacyr Francisco Braido CS (born April 17, 1940 in Roca Sales , Rio Grande do Sul ) is a Brazilian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Santos .

Life

Jacyr Francisco Braido joined the Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Charles Borromeo in and received on 22 February 1970, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Santos on February 22, 1995 . The Archbishop of Mariana , Luciano Pedro Mendes de Almeida SJ , donated him episcopal ordination on April 30 of the same year . Co- consecrators were David Picão , Bishop of Santos, and Urbano José Allgayer , Bishop of Passo Fundo . As a motto he chose ALEGRES NA ESPERANÇA . With David Picão's retirement on July 26th, 2000, he succeeded him as Bishop of Santos.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on May 6, 2015.
