Jakob Müller (born December 18, 1895 in Krillberg , † March 9, 1967 in Frauenfeld , reformed , entitled to live in Krillberg, since 1927 in Frauenfeld) was a Swiss politician (FDP) .

biography

Jakob Müller was born on December 18, 1895 in Krillberg as the son of the farmer and mayor Jakob Müller Senior. Between 1917 and 1920, Müller studied law in Zurich , Bern , Geneva and Leipzig , which he completed in 1920 with the academic degree of Dr. iur. completed. In addition, he was also admitted to the Thurgau Bar in 1920.

Subsequently, Müller worked as a land registry inspector from 1921 to 1923, then as an interrogator until 1930 and finally until 1935 as a lawyer in Frauenfeld and as a district court clerk in Weinfelden .

In addition, Müller held directorships at NOK , the intercantonal state lottery , the Ulrico Hoepli Foundation and the Frauenfeld-Wil-Bahn . Jakob Müller married Hedwig in 1923, the daughter of Arnold Dumelin and granddaughter of the politician Johann Konrad Egloff junior. He died on March 9, 1967 at the age of 71 in Frauenfeld.

His estate is kept in the Thurgau State Archives.

Political career

As a member of the Liberal Party, Müller held the post of Vice Mayor of Frauenfeld from 1928 to 1935 . At the cantonal level, Jakob Müller initially represented his party from 1929 to 1935 as Thurgau's Grand Councilor , before he headed the Education and Medical Department as a government councilor until 1948, then the judiciary and the poor and police department until 1965. In addition, Jakob Müller sat on the Council of States from 1951 to 1967 , including as President of the Council of States between November 30, 1964 and November 29, 1965 .
