James Winslow

James Winslow (born April 16, 1983 in Witham , Essex , England ) is a British racing driver .

Career

Winslow began his motorsport career in 1998 in the British Formula Ford and also competed in this series in 1999 and 2002. In 2004 he took part in two races of the British Formula 3 Championship and finished ninth in the national class. In 2005 Winslow switched to the Asian Formula 3 championship . He won a race and finished the championship in third place. 2006 Winslow entered the Asian Formula 3 championship again. He won 8 out of 18 races and finally the championship title by a clear margin over Tyson Sy . Winslow made headlines when he saved Moreno Soeprapto's life after a collision. Soeprapto started at Winslow and picked it up. When he hit the barrier, the fuel hoses on his car were destroyed and the fuel ran out. Winslow helped Soeprapto free himself from the car, which later went up in flames, and saved his life.

In 2007 Winslow switched to the Asian Formula Renault V6 and immediately won the championship title with three wins ahead of Armaan Ebrahim . He also started in the Australian Formula 3 Championship and finished fourth in this series with three wins. In 2008 Winslow only competed in Australian Formula 3. He won five races and won the championship title. He prevailed against Leanne Tander with 198 to 194 points .

In 2009 Winslow moved to North America and started eleven of twelve races in the Atlantic Championship for various teams . With a sixth place as the best result, he finished the season in eighth place overall. In 2010 Winslow moved to Sam Schmidt Motorsports in Indy Lights . He took part in 6 out of 13 races. With a fifth place as the best result, he finished 14th in the drivers' championship at the end of the season. In 2011 Winslow competed for Andretti Autosport in the first four races of the Indy Lights. At the end of the season he was in 19th place overall. In addition, Winslow took part in six of the seven events of the Australian Formula 3 Championship. With 202 to 210 points, he finished second behind Chris Gilmour , who started every race.
