Armaan Ebrahim (born May 17, 1989 in Chennai , Tamil Nadu ) is an Indian automobile racing driver . He is the son of the former Indian Formula 3 champion Akbar Ebrahim .

Career

Ebrahim started his career in karting and became Formula LGB Champion in 2004 . In 2005 he drove in the Asian Formula BMW and finished fifth overall. In the A1GP - 2005/2006 season started Ebrahim in six races for the team of his home country . The following summer he drove in the British Formula Renault , in which he finished 24th overall. In the A1GP season 2006/2007 Ebrahim started again for his home country. He then started in the Asian Formula Renault V6 and was runner-up behind James Winslow with five wins .

In 2008 Ebrahim drove for David Price Racing in the GP2 Asia series . His teammate was Andy Souček for one race and Diego Nunes for the rest of the season . With a ninth place as the best result, he finished 26th overall with no points at the end of the season. In the regular GP2 season 2008 Ebrahim was not used, unlike his teammates. Instead, he took part in some races of the Asian Formula Renault V6 and was seventh with two wins. In 2009 Ebrahim started in the revived Formula 2 and finished the season in 17th place overall. He also started as a guest starter in two races of the German Formula 3 Cup . In 2010 Ebrahim contested his second season in Formula 2. At the last race weekend, he achieved his first podium finish in Formula 2 with a third place. At the end of the season, he finished tenth overall. In 2011 Ebrahim started again in Formula 2. After the sixth race weekend, he dropped out of the series. At the end of the season he was 15th in the drivers' championship.

In 2012 Ebrahim competed in the Indy Lights for Fan Force United in North America . After the first five races, his team separated from him and replaced him with Bryan Clauson . In the drivers' standings, he was 13. Following Ebrahim took for Sunred at a meeting of the FIA GT1 World Championship in part.
