Jan Flinterman (born October 2, 1919 in The Hague , † December 26, 1992 in Leiden ) was a Dutch racing car driver .
Career
Along with Dries van der Lof, Jan Flinterman was the first Dutchman in Formula 1 . Flinterman competed for the Escuderia Bandeirantes at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort in 1952 . When his Maserati A6GCM broke down after a damage to the rear axle, he took over the car of his teammate Chico Landi and finished ninth, seven laps behind Alberto Ascari in the Ferrari 500 .
