Jan Klak

Jan Klak (born September 19, 1942 in Podivín ) is a Czech economist and politician. He was Czechoslovak Finance Minister in 1992 . Today Klak is a member of the Občanská Demokratická strana (ODS) party.

Political career

Until 1970 Klak worked as a teacher at the University of Economics in Prague , then until 1978 in the General Directorate of Industry for Technical Glass, 1978–1990 he worked in the Research Institute of the Consumer Industry. From 1990 Klak worked at the Ministry of Finance of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic , 1991–1992 as Deputy Minister. From June to December 1992 he was Minister of Finance in the last all-Czechoslovak government, Jan Stráský . In the Czech Republic he was Deputy Minister of Finance in the governments of Václav Klaus I and Václav Klaus I from 1993 to 1997 .
