Jaroslav Sůra
Jaroslav Sůra (born March 31, 1929 in Prague ; † May 24, 2011 ) was a Czech painter , illustrator and graphic artist . He was a member of several artists' associations.
Sůra devoted himself to painting, graphics, poster illustration and graphic design. His theater posters are particularly well known.
biography
Jaroslav Sůra lived in Křivsoudov near Blaník until 1945 , as his father was a village school teacher there. He strongly influenced Jaroslav Sůra's life as a painter.
After 1945 Jaroslav attended a secondary school for graphics until 1948 and then until 1954 the arts and crafts school in Prague, where he completed a voluntary year in 1953.
Sůra last lived and worked in Prague . His wife was also involved in the works that were created in his studio apartment .

Jaroslav Sůra has been exhibiting since 1954. Since then he has had 40 exhibitions of his own at home and abroad and has been represented at around 600 exhibitions in the Czech Republic and worldwide. He designed and illustrated 250 book titles and is the author of around 500 theater and opera posters.
Sůra has won numerous prizes for his artistic work, including the first 18.

He also developed more than 80 characters, symbols and logos for Czechoslovak TV , the Czech Philharmonic and various festivals . Sůra created a vast amount of drawings, pictures and graphics.
