Javier "Javi" Guerra Rodríguez (born March 15, 1982 in Málaga ) is a Spanish football player in the position of center forward who is currently under contract with the English club Cardiff City .

Career

Guerra began his career at the Spanish club Motril, from where he moved to Cádiz in 2003 . Guerra took his first steps in professional football when he joined the second team at Valencia CF in 2004 . During this time he also ran for the first team in the Primera División, where he got two missions. In 2007 Guerra moved to the Spanish second division club Granada CF , where he scored eight goals in 39 appearances, the first on matchday 7 of the 2007/08 season in a tie against CD Castellón . After just one season at Granada CF, Guerra moved to league rivals Deportivo Alavés in the summer of 2008 , where he scored nine goals in 40 games. Alavés also left Guerra after just one year and moved back to Levante UD within the league . There he played 37 games and scored twelve goals. Since summer 2010 Guerra has been under contract with Real Valladolid . With Valladolid Guerra managed to move up from the Segunda División to the Primera División, Guerra scored his first first division goal on matchday 17 in a 3-1 defeat against FC Barcelona . At Real Valladolid, Guerra signed a contract until 2014.

For the 2014/15 season, Guerra moved to the Football League Championship at Cardiff City . After three league and two League Cup appearances, he moved back to the Primera División for Málaga FC on loan until the end of the season . After the loan expired, he returned to Cardiff City after the season.
