Alexandre "Álex" Moreno Lopera (born June 8, 1993 in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia ) is a Spanish football player . The left full-back is under contract with the first division club Betis Sevilla .

Career

Álex Moreno , born in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia , Catalonia , comes from the youth department of FC Vilafranca . For the first team Vilafrancas he completed an assignment in the fourth highest Spanish division and joined FC Barcelona in April 2011 , where he was only used in the U18 team. There he was a regular player and was nevertheless released at the end of the 2011/12 season, whereupon he signed a contract with third division club UE Llagostera . There he rose to become a regular player in December 2012 and scored his first goal in professional football on January 6, 2013 (21st matchday) in a 3-2 home win against Atlético Baleares . He ended the 2012/13 season with 27 league appearances in which he scored two goals.

On July 4, 2013 Moreno moved to the second division RCD Mallorca , which had been relegated from the Primera División the previous season . He made his debut on August 18, 2013 (1st matchday) in the 4-0 away defeat against CE Sabadell , when he came on for Josep Lluís Martí in the 74th minute . In the Balearic Islands he developed to become a regular on the left wing . On January 4th (20th matchday) he scored his first goal for RCD Mallorca in a 2-2 draw against UD Las Palmas . In the 2013/14 season he played 31 league games in which he met twice. He narrowly escaped another descent with the Bermellones .

On July 15, 2014, Álex Moreno signed a four-year contract with the first division club Rayo Vallecano . He made his debut in the top Spanish division on September 14, 2014 in a 3-2 home defeat against FC Elche , when he came on for Leo Baptistão in the 84th minute . Álex Moreno was only used irregularly in the 2014/15 season and remained in eleven league appearances without scoring.

In order to gain match practice, Moreno moved on August 13, 2015 for the entire 2015/16 season to the first division relegated FC Elche. There he had been a regular on the left wing since his arrival. On January 16, 2016 (21st matchday), he scored his first goal of the season for the Franjiverdes in a 2-0 home win against AD Alcorcón . He ended the season with 40 league appearances, in which he scored two goals and four assists, and returned to Madrid after the loan expired .

There - Rayo Vallecano was relegated to the Segunda División in Moreno's absence - he established himself as a regular player in the 2016/17 season. On September 11, 2016 (4th matchday), he scored in a 1-0 home win against his former employer RCD Mallorca in the Franjirrojos jersey for the first time . In February 2017, Moreno played for the first time in the position of left full- back and then did this regularly until the end of the season, in which he scored four goals and as many assists in 37 league games.

In this new position he played over the entire 2017/18 season and developed into an undisputed regular under head coach Míchel . He missed only two of the 42 league games and collected three goals and three assists. With good performances, he was an essential factor in the team and contributed significantly to the championship title, which means promotion to the Primera División.

On September 11, 2018, he extended his contract until the summer of 2021. In the Primera División, he retained his regular place and also occasionally played on the left wing again. On April 14, 2019 (32nd matchday), he scored his first goal in the top Spanish division in the 3-2 away defeat against Athletic Bilbao . With Rayo Vallecano he had to accept the immediate relegation to the second division this season 2018/19 . He came to 36 league appearances in which he scored one goal and prepared two more hits.

On August 21, 2019, Moreno moved to Betis Sevilla for a transfer fee of 12 million euros and, unlike Rayo Vallecano, escaped relegation. With the Verdiblancos he was equipped with a five-year contract. On September 15, 2019 (4th match day) he made his debut in a 1-1 draw against Getafe FC for his new club. He scored his first goal on January 11, 2020 in a 3-0 cup win against Club Portugalete . In total, he played 31 league games in this 2019/20 season.
