Javier García Arias (born May 2, 1992 in Madrid ) is a Spanish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Majadahonda HC in the Super League since 2008 .

Career

Javier García Arias began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of the Madrid suburban club Majadahonda HC , for which he has been active in the super league since 2008 .

International

For Spain, García Arias took part in the junior division of the U18 World Junior Championships in Division II in 2008 , 2009 and 2010 and the U20 Junior World Championships in Division II in 2009 , 2010 , 2011 and 2012 . He also represented his colors at the 2015 Winter Universiade in Granada .

He made his debut in the men's national team at the qualifying tournament for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . There the Spaniards were eliminated from the first round tournament in Kiev despite a surprising 5-4 win over Estonia . He was also on the ice at the qualifying tournament for the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang . He was part of the World Cup squad in his home country for the first time in 2013 , when the Iberians had to relegate from Group A of Division II to Group B. In the following year he and his team managed to get promoted again. He also played in Division II in 2015 , 2016 and 2017 .
