Jaya Bachchan ( Hindi , जया बच्चन , Jaya Baccan; Bengali জযা ভাদূড়ী , Jaya Bhaduri * 9. April 1948 in Jabalpur , Madhya Pradesh as Jaya Bhaduri ) is an Indian actress .

Life

Jaya Bachchan, daughter of the Bengali writer Tarun Bhaduri , has been married to the film star Amitabh Bachchan since June 3, 1973 . She made most of her career films under her maiden name, Jaya Bhaduri , but has used the name Jaya Bachchan in more recent films.

She has received many awards for her acting achievements, including a. various Filmfare Awards . In 1974 she received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Abhimaan and in 1979 for Nauker . She received the award for Best Supporting Actress in 2000 for Fiza , 2001 for In good as in bad days and 2003 for Lebe und haben nicht zu Morgen .

Jaya and Amitabh made many films together, including Sholay , Abhimaan , Zanjeer and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham . They have two children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta. She is an active member of the Samajwadi Party and sits for them in the Rajya Sabha . Bachchan was involved in many charitable institutions such as UNICEF .
