Silsila ( Hindi : सिलसिला, translated: Affair ) is a Bollywood film from 1981.
action
Shekhar is a fighter pilot and is in a relationship with his great love Shobha. One day Shekhar's younger brother and poet Amit Malhotra comes to visit. During his stay, Shekhar makes his promise to marry only when Amit has also found a wife for life to host a double wedding.
In fact, the poet falls in love with the beautiful Chandni, whom he had recently met. When the two of them think about getting married, the terrible news comes: Shekhar was killed in a maneuver.
To make matters worse, Shekhar left a pregnant Shobha. This is a terrible situation for an Indian woman as she is marginalized from society. Amit now feels obliged to help her. He sacrifices his own love and covenants with Shobha. It turns out that Shobha has a miscarriage, but slowly an affection develops between the couple.
As fate would have it, Chandni appears, who is now married to the doctor VK Anand. It is not long in coming that the old love between Amit and Chandni flares up again and they start an affair.
Although the two try to keep their affair a secret, Shobha notices Amit's affection for Chandni. Chandni's husband doesn't miss this either. Even so, they love their spouses and do not want to part with them.
But Amit and Chandni have other plans. Amit confesses his love for Chandni to Shobha and separates from Shobha. He and Chandni travel to Shimla , where they learn from Shobha that Chandni's husband has had a plane crash. Shocked by this news, they quickly make their way to the scene of the accident. Once there, Amit saves the doctor's life. Chandni and Anand hug each other in relief and Shobha confesses to her husband that he is pregnant. Finally, Amit and Shobha get together again and Amit promises never to leave them alone again.
