Jean-Marc Eychenne

Jean-Marc Eychenne (born November 2, 1956 in Pamiers , France ) is a French clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Pamiers .

Life

Jean-Marc Eychenne began studying philosophy at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne . After joining the priestly community of Saint Martin , he continued his studies in Genoa. On July 4, 1982, he received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Genoa . Then he was novice master of the priestly community until 1985 . After further studies, he obtained a licentiate in theology from the University of Freiburg in 1986 and then worked in the priestly training of his community in Genoa.

In 1987 he took on a job in the pastoral care of the diocese of Orléans , where he was episcopal vicar for youth pastoral care from 1989 to 1995 . In 1994 he was incardinated in the clergy of the Orléans diocese . From 1995 to 2004 he was pastor in Saint-Yves de la Source and then until 2008 episcopal vicar for the pastoral care region of Val de Loire and Sologne . From 2008 to 2014 he was Vicar General of the Diocese of Orléans.

On December 17, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Pamiers. The Archbishop of Toulouse , Robert Le Gall OSB , donated him episcopal ordination on February 15 of the following year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Orléans, Jacques Blaquart , and his predecessor Philippe Mousset , Bishop of Périgueux .
