The Jeep Grand Commander (internal: K8) is a sport utility vehicle from Jeep with up to seven seats.
history
The Grand Commander, based on the Jeep Yuntu Concept , debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2018 and was launched on the Chinese car market on May 17, 2018. The Grand Commander's prices range from 239,900 to 330,800 yuan. Manufactured by the joint venture GAC Fiat, the Grand Commander will be positioned above the locally manufactured Jeep Cherokee .
Despite its looks and name, the Grand Commander is not being sold as the successor to the Jeep Commander built between 2006 and 2010 . The Grand Commander is intended exclusively for the Chinese market.
Technical specifications
The Grand Commander is powered by a two-liter gasoline engine that is available in two output levels. All versions are linked to a 9- speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive .
A plug-in hybrid version of the Grand Commander went on sale in November 2019 . In addition to a 169 kW (230 PS) two-liter gasoline engine, it has two electric motors . The manufacturer specifies the electric range as 70 km.
